Aal Millie - 2nd Edition

Building on the success of Aal Millie, our Professional Development Committee proudly presents the second edition of this exciting partnership with Rotaract De Beyrouth Millennium!
Aal Millie, a three-part project, celebrates the richness of Lebanese culture and fosters inter-club camaraderie. In its second chapter, we embarked on a delightful journey to Aley, where we delved into the world of Lebanese traditions and shared a delicious meal together.
Here's how Aal Millie 2nd Edition unfolded:
  • Stepping into a Cultural Landmark: The adventure began at the renowned Aal Karaky restaurant, a true Aley institution. Immersed in its beautiful setting, we embarked on a journey through the art of "Karaky," the traditional preparation of Arak. From understanding the ingredients to witnessing the distillation process, we gained a deeper appreciation for this iconic Lebanese beverage.
  • Embracing Lebanese Etiquette: To refine our social graces, we participated in a fascinating session led by Sara Yammine from Rotaract De Beyrouth Millennium. Sarah expertly guided us through the nuanced world of Lebanese etiquette, equipping us with the knowledge and confidence to navigate social situations with cultural fluency.
  • Uniting over a Shared Feast: The day culminated in a delightful Lebanese lunch at Aal Karaky, where we bonded with our fellow Rotaractors over delicious food and lively conversation. Laughter, friendship, and the warmth of shared experiences solidified the ties between our clubs, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Aal Millie 2nd Edition wasn't just a cultural immersion; it was a testament to the power of inter-club collaboration and mutual learning. Through this project, we:

  • Gained valuable insights into Lebanese traditions and heritage.
  • Honed our etiquette skills, becoming more culturally aware and adaptable.
  • Strengthened the bond between our two Rotaract clubs, fostering lasting friendships and a spirit of unity.
Stay tuned for the final chapter of Aal Millie, where we promise to continue celebrating Lebanese culture and building bridges of understanding between our clubs!
