This month, our Rotaract Club experienced a touching community service project that transformed not only a local shop but also the hearts of our members.

In partnership with Rotaract Clubs of Lebanon, we went on a mission to renovate a local shop and uplift the spirits of its owner. Upon visiting the shop, we observed that it was in dire need of attention, with worn-out curtains, outdated fixtures, and electrical connections in need of repair.

Through a thoughtful approach, we initiated our project by engaging with the owner, taking time to understand his needs. During our initial visit, we made a point to support the shop by making purchases, allowing us to connect with the owner and assess the extent of the renovations required. Through our conversation, we learned about the shop's rich history, dating back to 1962, and the challenges the owner faced in maintaining it.

With the owner's blessing, our team sprang into action, transforming the shop into a welcoming space for both the owner and the community. From painting the walls to restoring electrical connections and providing a stand for vegetables, every aspect of the renovation was carried out with care and dedication.

The transformation was met with overwhelming gratitude from the owner, who was deeply moved by our gesture of kindness. His smile spoke volumes, reaffirming the importance of our mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

By the end of the day, the shop looked like a whole new place! It was more than just a renovation, though. Seeing the genuine happiness on the owner's face after years of running the shop was truly special. It reminded us all why we do what we do in Rotaract – to make a positive impact on our community, no matter how big or small.

Special thanks to our sponsors for making this project a success: Mr. Arkan Harb for providing the electricity essentials, Mr. Ghassan Massoud for the discounted vegetable metal stand, Al Rayyes and Mr. Omar Brimo for the curtains, and Mr. Housam Naser for the paint.
